What GearUp Insights Does

We help U.S. drivers understand how EV, energy, and economic changes affect real ownership costs and vehicle choices. Every published piece must connect to a driver's money: a purchase decision, a maintenance cost, a charging bill, a resale value, an insurance rate, or a regulation that changes one of those.

Source Hierarchy

Tier 1 sources are used as direct evidence: government agencies (EIA, EPA, NHTSA, IRS, DOE, Federal Reserve), international bodies (IEA, World Bank, OECD), manufacturer specifications, regulatory filings, and peer-reviewed research. Tier 2 sources such as Reuters, AP, and Bloomberg corroborate Tier 1 data. Tier 3 sources are used for idea generation only, never as a final source.

Data Currency

Vehicle, energy, and policy figures move fast. Articles show a Last reviewed date, and cost-comparison articles are revisited when the underlying data changes materially. We do not update a publish date without also updating the substance behind it.

Our editorial decisions are not for sale. We do not accept payment for favorable coverage, and affiliate relationships do not determine which products we discuss or how we describe them. GearUp Insights is an educational resource, not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional.
